Whats my deal with compliments?

Why do I always feel awkward when someone compiments me in person?
Like, I feel like I have to think of whats the right way to say 'thank you' and smile. Lol.
Why do I feel so weird?

maybe your not used to it??...like how often do you get compliments in person?? and about what??

like for me...im ALWAYS getting compliments about practically evrything...lol...and I still feel "wierd" because like I think you feel like people actually notice you and its nice...but its usually normal to feel 'weird"...like I dun even say "thank you" anymore...because its kinda like "oh!...get over IT!"...but then they think your a b*tch s0o you have to say "thank you"...

SO TOTALLY NORMAL TO FEEL WIERD...lol...^^^

I never take my self 4 a beautiful lady actually and so I also feel weird when people say.. hey you are beautiful it suck's and it's weird

well, I have the same problem. I'm not a boostful person. and I don't put myself out there for all to see. and when I get a compliment, I feel like I'm being put out in public for all to see. I think it's just our minds reaction to being picked out from the crowd and being complimented.

oh my gosh you guys! I never give compliments unless I mean them and hopefully other people do the same thing. anyway, I don't think you should feel weird...I think you should feel flatterd. I am not saying that if you feel weird that you are abnormal or anything I just know that when I give a compliment and I can feel that the person feels weird, it is weird for me. just accept it and smile If someone says they like my jeans, shirt or whatever I always say something nerdy like, "oh this old thing?" well thanks! everyone always gets a kick out of it and the weirdness is disapated like that!

girl I don't know the SAME thign happens to me im relaly self concious if you thik your not pretty or something you might feel that their lieing thats what I feel a lot and if you feel that first off its not true but liek this liek that happen its a faze might be telling you you dont know how to take it liek I don't know how to put that od you say liek yah I no if so then you ahve to much self confidence but otherwise you just might feel a lil strange sorry cant help thamuc but yah hope I helped some =)

liek liek liek...j/k just had to say it!! lol...like I said, if I don't like anything about the person I don't compliment. if I see something that stands out to me I do because you never know when that compliment may make somebodys day...who knows..maybe they are having a terrible day then you come be-boppin along telling them how cute or smart they are or just the fact that you love how intensly they listen and you could of made their day that much better. I have had days when I feel like going home, hibernating, and crying myself to sleep because of a simple bad day and someone random tells me how much they admire or miss me or love me or whatever and it changes that bad feeling. it helps me forget... so never pass up the chance to express. now don't be blowing air up peoples skirts just to compliment. it has to be sincere...have meaning behind the things you do.
