Why did my period stop if i'm not pregnant?

I have been late on my period for 3 months. Then this month I didn't have one at all. I've taken two test which both came up negative. So if I'm not pregnant what else could be going on!? Is everything okay?

Im 29 and I've havent had my period in 4months, as a teenager mine were so irregular and painful it wasnt even funny, but right before my period ceased it was ironically regular. So like any woman all the thoughts tumbled in my mind am I prego?? So I took tests left and right even had a few done by bloodwork nothing it was negative so not only am I a train wreck from all of that emotional stuff I still need an answer.. lonnng story short.. I saw my OBGYN, and she has diagnosed me with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome aka PCOS.. Problem is this PCOS generally develops in young teenage girls who can be overwieght that maybe the criteria however not always the case some skinny girls can get it to.. also this PCOS is a condition that is generally overlooked because not a lot of doctors know about it so if you havent had your period in several months, had eratic periods, skin discoleration aks as skin patches that are darker usually around the thigh area or where skin rubs together, sometimes skin tags will appear, acne as if your 13 if your not still a teenager, weight gain that comes on with a quickness and doesnt come off.. You get my drift.. as other woman have said GO SEE A DOCTOR!!! Also with PCOS you dont always have to have the little polycysts on your ovaries. I am currently waiting for my doctor to certify me for a surgery called a Laproscopy where they can go in and see whats going on. I hope all of you girls can find out whats going on. All my best. I have not had a period for 3 months and went to the doctor. It turns out I have PCOS (polysystic ovaries) which 1 in 4 women have. Little or few periods are a very common symptom. As I am trying for a baby, my doc recommended I try accupuncture to kick-start them again, and if not, then I have to go on something called Clomid which forces ovulation. I highly recommend that you all find out if you have PCOS.

I have not got my period in about 3-4 months im only 15 im not pregnant because I never had sex.. ever im scared I dont know what wrong with me it use to be only missing everyone 1 month of missing nows its 3-4

I had mine for two months straight and then it went away for six months. eating disorders are a common reason. stress or anxiety can stop it as well. also, some forms of birth control pills can make your period irregular again. you may not want to go see a doctor but it's probably for the best. good luck.

I am 30. I've always had a normal period. I've been off the pill for 6 months tring to get pregnant. I've always been regular, until this month. I had spotting, but no period. My pregnancy tests all come back negative. The only stress I have is caused by not getting pregnant! I'm so frustrated. I'm going to the Dr next week to find out what is going on.

im 12 and my period started last summer when I was 11 and its stoped da whole summer and this summer I havent gotten it for june or july and I have the same weight I don't know why but it also seems that when my period is schelued and ders like spring break during that week I dont get it until next MONTH how could school be causing it lol but siriously whats wrong with me

my name is Ann I'm 18 years old and I haven't had a period in a year and sometimes when I feel like I'm going 2 have one all my body does is release brown blood clots but no blood can somebody give me and answer by what's going on with my body because I have been to 3 different doctors and they all keep telling me the same thing it well come just give my body time.

I havent had my period in 6 months and Im 16!!! I used to have them for about a year then they just stopped all of a sudden. I dont know if something is wrong with me or not. But im not too worried about it because at least I dont have to endure the pain I once did when I had them :P But im wondering if it could be a serious problem or just normal I'm also a virgaian but I have been under stress in school and that was about the time that they stoped and I've also got deppressed and I sleep a lot soo I dont know whats going on
I would tell my mother but she would just think that I'm pregnat or something an di really dont want to go through her drama, can some one help me?

I also dint get my periods since last 2 months, my last cycle was in May..m soo frustated as we are planning for a baby and because of this irregular periods its very difficult to keep track of anything. In May my doctor gave me Progesteron as that months also my periods were late by 30 days..I do not want to take that medicine regularly as it does have some bad side effects..so I want to get my periods naturally this time..but unfortunately I do not see any symptom..:-(( already done 6 HPT since last month..all came out negative.
Totally confused and frustated...has anyone gone throght same situation..pls advice.

Hi everyone I'm 13 and my period is 3 weeks late and yes I am still a virgin. I do play sports, but this has never happened before.I've played sports my whole life.I was 10 when I first started my period. It is really unusual for my period to be this late. I don't know what to do??? If anyone has any suggestions on what to do please tell me!!

I'm not comforted to know other women are having the same problem, I am even more worried now I realise that there is no answer.

I'm a virgin, I'm only 14. I got my period for the first time when I was 12, so I've had it for like two years. My problem is the same as a lot of yours.. I am a virgin, and I tend to have irregular periods, majorly. I'll miss it for 3-4 months, get it once, (maybe), then I'll be late again. I was supposed to get my period around the 9th of July. I'm now 26-27 days late.. This isn't the first time I've been late... but I KNOW I'm NOT pregnant. Is something wrong ? I do want to be able to have kids in the future.. I hope this doesn't effect it.

I don't know me 11 and my period comes at the end of each month it hgasnt been irreggerel it still comes every month I've had my period sence I september of 2008 when I was 10 so ya I have a boyfriend but my parents dont know and I love him weve been dating for 2 and 1/2 months now its amazing and I want to have a baby when im older but not when im still a teenager.

I really cant answer that but I no I had my period sience I was 10 I am seventeen and I havent had my period sience I was 16 and I had all kinds of tests and the doctors still dont whats wrong with me I wish some one will help I do wanna have kids some day and with me not having my period its never going to happen

I have had the same problem. I was always regular, but after I had my son 4 years ago, I have only had a couple of periods. currently I havent had one for about 10 months. in the past I have had problems with ovarian cysts and thought it had something to do with it. I went to the doctor and they checked my thyroid and it was fine, but they said I had endometriosis, but never clarified if that was causing it or not.

If any of you are worried go to the doctors if your embaressed About request to see a female doctor but I wudnt I didnt have a period for 2 years. If you are you have been stressed, lose or gain weight (its more common if you lose weight) excersise to much or take drugs your periods are likely to stop for a while also if you have been on contraception that normally stop periods eg the injection it will take a while some times a long time for your periods to come back again.

Girls go see a doc. you should have one every 28 days if you dont that means your ph is off and when your ph is off that is if your not prego (some girls become prego and dont know it from low hcg the hormone that shows you are so go to the doc to make sure your not ) but if the ph is off this means there are signs for cancer and othere harmful things going on in your body most things can be fixed with just some over the counter ph leavel med check it out !!

To Always Stressed- I know how it feels to be young and not want to disappoint your mom but this is a very serious matter. You must tell your mom rightaway or are a doc. This can be very serious to be only 19 and not had a period for 2 years. You need to seek help before its to late. You may have a cyst or tumor or something else that's very serious. Your life is very important esspecially to your mother. Your mom wouldn't want anything to happen to you just because your afraid to tell her. Keeping yourself healthy is very important for now and for future. So please get help now!

A woman knows when her period is coming...she no longer smells fresh and clean. This is how I know I will get it, but this time with the scent no period came. Odd. I havent taken a test yet...
