I like telescopic (loreal) but I also bought a seperate brush to comb out my lashes (or just take your old brush and wash it out real good) after I put it on because like you I hate clumps. This has worked great for me and I get asked all the time what I use.

I use Revlon Volume Mascara it works really well! No clumps at all! And I come out with really pretty eyelashes everyday (:
