What would you do if you heard footsteps when you were alone?

What would you do if you were at home at night, alone and you heard a noise in your house that seemed to be footsteps? Would you stay calm? Would you panic? If you have a gun in your room your in good condition...if it's in another room would you have...

the guts to go grab it? if you don't have gun in your house what would you do?
You try to call 911 on your cell phone but there is no service. All the sudden electricity is out on the whole city. If you planned on running away through the window to seek neighbor help you find there is no one blood everywhere and people are dead..and it's like your the only one left. All you hear all these frightening noises like there is someone/something trying to find you (human survivor).
Killing yourself doesn't work
Please be honest on what your saying. You have no idea if this thing is human and how big it is. Don't just say I'll grab baseball bat. And this isn't a nightmare at all..it's all real...you pinch yourself and you know it's still real

ok why the f*** are you asking this?
basically you've left no options. I cant do anything. in that situation I might kill myself (which you said I cant). or I might go grab the gun and shoot the s*** out of w/e it is but basically (in this scenario) you've cut off all the options, next time you ask one of these, leave SOMETHING open.

Stay calm! Look out of your room or where ever you are but arm your self! Your not the only one left! Try running to the closest Police Station! Or runing to the closest neighbors house! Somone would be smart enought to hide and not be found! And if it's not human than it's an animal! So... you kill it and try to run to the clostest city!

I've got a machete under my mattress, and it's thirsty for blood. The blood of whoever - or whatever - killed everyone, and is now in my house. Now into the darkness. Let's carve ourselves a witch.

ok first I would get my gun somehow and then move up to higher ground to see want (coming human or not). then some way move to another state .. lol

I'd grab anything hard and big enough to kill whatever this thing is! and hide somewhere, this way I'll be allowed to wait and see who's in my house and when I see what it is I stand from behind this thing and hit it until it dies then I take my father's car and go to another close city that has someone alive, something to eat and somewhere to sleep!! then in the morning I go to a police station and tell them about everything so that they can figure out what the was heppening the night!! then I will work and live happely ever after !! :]

GOOD SOUNDS OR BAD SOUNDS ARE ANNOYING ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR AL;ONE THANK GOD YOU HAVE A CELL PHONE USE IT WELLBUT ALWAYS CALL THE LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT AND STAY IN THE ROOM DDOOR LOCKED AND ON THE PHONE. MOST POLICE CAN DEAL WITH SIUATUINS WELL I HOPE THAT IF EVER IT HAPPENS YOU GET THE RIGHT LAW PEOPLE AND DO NOIT HAVE TO USE A GUN GOD FORBID
