What will it take to get a story published?

My friend just read this story that I posted on Quizilla, and she loved it. It's about a girl meeting David Cook, getting to live with him and everything. I don't really like it, but everyone else does, and I admit, I'm starting to like it myself.
I know I can't get it published until I finish it (lol), and I have to get permission apparently from all the famous people I used in it. I don't know how true the permission part is, but I think it's true.
Anyways, my friend got David Cook's fanmail address and she's sending him what I've written so far. I'm extremely excited, and she says we could get David's permission and get it published, but I think there's more to it.
Does anyone know what I could do?

can I have a link to the story, I'm kinda curious and want to read it. you'll have 2 contact like one of those publishers, like on books, they show the name of the publisher, Harper Collins, Apple, etc. contact them or try their websites and contact one of the reps. they will help you from their. this is just a theory, but I think it works this way.=D I've always wanted 2 publish a story I want to write and some love poems I wrote. let me know how it goes...
p.s. maybe not the poems, 2 personal and umm, akward and personal, lol.
