What was the first cd you ever bought for yourself?

Does anyone remember the CD that started their collection? (I'm assuming that all of us have some moral fiber and don't rip all of out music...)

Mine was Savage Garden's debut album. I still love Darren Hayes' music, and I still listen to that first...

CD (it only has a few minor scratches, and I've had it for about a decade- not bad!)

If you mean what was the first album I bought for myself that would be John Coltrane-Dial Africa. I didn't know much about jazz yet and when one of my music teachers told me to listen to John Coltrane I just picked the album with the cover I liked best. This was long before CDs existed.

I got my first CD player in 1986. Mine was a fancy 6 disc changer. I got it for only $500 because it was a display unit. It worked until 2000 except toward the end discs kept getting jammed in the changer mechanism; in late 2000 it was replaced by a CD/DVD changer.

I'm trying to remember what the first CD I bought was. Not sure but I think it was The Police-Zenyattà Mondatta thought it might have been Syncronicity or Ghost In the Machine.

Filletofspam: First record I bought was a Led Zeppelin one when I was about 7- my dad encouraged me to get it. He used to play Deep Purple records for me when I was little, but only when my mum wasn't around- she didn't agree with us young'uns being taught about how rock used to be... apparently it might give us ideas...

I had bought the Savage Garden's cassette for their debut, but their sophmore album, Affirmation, was the first CD that I ever bought! When I first got it, I brought it with me when I went to visit my cousins in FL, and them and my aunt fell in love! We actually went and saw the concert for that album at the Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando before I left! It was amazing, he is so much better live! I was 12 I think!

Spice Girls 2nd Album... and their first one was the first Cassette I bought also. Savage Garden's album was the 4th CD I bought - the first album edition with the bonus CD.
