What should i do about a stove i bought that oven does not work?

Asked by latata about 1 month ago, 5 answers.

I bought a used stove for $300, the man said it was in great condition and that he was giving me a great deal, after a whille I found out that the oven was not working, I told the man and he has given me the run around and a million excuses why he has...

not exchanged the stove. It has been about 2 wks now and the man does not even call me to tell me when he will exchange the stove.

It's buyer beware.

You bought a used stove without first trying it out - it's your own loss, I'm sorry to say.

he sounds like a rogue trader (someone who sells faulty crap and rips you off, then dissapears) and theres not really anything you can do.
get a DIFFERENT plumber/electrician person to try and fix it, but make sure you know they're reliable and good.

hope this helps

It doesn't matter you can get a refund or exchange he is not aloud to sell you a faulty applicance, I would peronally take it further.. theres no way he can do that its illegal!

Congrats, you've been had. Next time examine everything carefully before you buy. Get someone else to inspect if needed. Be thankful you learned on a stove and not a car. These things are the norm not the exception. Anyway he's never gonna do anything for you just because you say so, he's just gonna keep lying so he can spend his time scamming the next person. You didn't save any evidence and get him to sign something beforehand so there's nothing legally you can do. Next time learn how to fight back or at least defend yourself.

If it was easily fixable he would have done it instead of selling it to you. You can have someone look at it just in case your'e lucky and he's an idiot, but then if not you'll be better off discarding it rather than dealing with it anymore.
