Should I mess around with other guys while he's locked up?

me and this dude was going together fa like 8 mo. and we was in love fa real.We had so many experiences togetha and errthing was perfect like da first 5 or 6 mo.And den he got on bull cheatin and stuff...and I wasn't going...but I kept given him chancez and he kept messin up . and den one day I was like im thru and broke up wit him. that was like in tha beginning of aug. Well this is the first dude I ever loved and I still really have feelings for him and I Know he has them for me. It was like I would ALWAYS come be fore da otha females no matter what but he'd still be messin wit them too. He tried to deny most of it but I already knew the truth. Well now he's locked up and probably finna get a lot of time. But me bein a real female and all always told him if he got locked up I'd write him. so I been written him and he been written me. And of course since he's locked up he on sweet stuff . but he swear up and down he fa real this time . and he want to get back with me and when he get out he aint gettin in no more trouble ...and this and that. but who knowz ... we still tell each other we love 1 another and stuff but I told him I aint on nuthin other den bein friends and he say he exept that but things gon change when he get out and stuff.. me and his mom real cooo and she say she know he really love me he juss going thru a lot .. well what chu think he on you think I shud mess wit otha dudes while he locked up or hold him down alll tha way. I dont know because he aint even my man .. but I know dem feelings still there...and ima write him regardless...what shuld I do ...and what do you think he's on?

Okay, that was a bit hard to read. The way I see it...

You broke up with the guy for a reason. Sure, you can still love him and get along with his family real well but that doesn't mean you have to get back together with him. If you don't want to or don't feel like it, then don't - and if someone else comes along, and you want to go out with him then don't feel like you shouldn't. Perhaps he'll be different and better once he comes out and has sorted all his crap out, but you can't put your life on hold until that happens - which it may not.
