I agree with you. I love black pudding and always feel weird when people say Euuuwww but I think its one of those areas where if you think about something too much, you can't eat it. LOL.
We turn our noses up because some cultures eat every part of the pig, all the way from the tail to the hoof... but we don't hesitate to chow down on a crispy bacon sandwich with home grown tomatoes. We simply don't want to be reminded that we're eating an animal, so it it's shaped like a rectangle it's ok. And the same with blood. The word reminds us of horrible things. In fact. I remember refusing to eat blood oranges when I was small. I knew it wasn't blood, but calling them that was over the top, for me... mind you, I was 7.
I mentioned to one of my kids once that gravy was made from blood... (meat juices) There were loud screams about it for a while but she still loves gravy.
I think 'gross' in my head about black pudding but don't judge caus I like lamb's fry (liver). I think, until you try something yourself, it can seem disgusting or weird. Who would have thought oysters or snails (escargots) would have been yummy the first time but they are - and they are expensive and considered a delicacy!! As long as things are healthy I say go for it and embrace it/laugh/shrug it off when people criticise.

What's the deal about black pudding?
Okay, this has been in my head for ages and I want to make my opinion heard. Black pudding, or so I've learned, is made from pig's blood. Loads of people think it's disgusting to eat it. But why is the blood much different than the fat or meat? So...
you can eat pork chops with the meat and the fat, but not the black pudding with pig's blood? I don't think it makes any sense at all. Can you honestly say that flesh is not as revolting as blood?
