Is there such a thing as normal. I believe everyone and everything is different is one way or another. Normal is being stereotypical , I'm not a stereo typical 47 yr old grandmother, I am pierced and tattooed and ride a motorbike.

God, I'd hate to be normal lol

For something to be 'normal' there has to be a solid medium to base the word on. It's Normal for a leaf to be green. It's Normal for leaves of many trees to turn other colors in the autumn. It isn't normal for a dog to be born with three legs, but it happens. I guess that may make for an 'abnormal dog' in the common concensus but really, it just has an 'abnormal issue'!

In the context of a human, as this question is often meant for: Some people look at themselves, or other people and say 'They're not normal.'. Think of what you're basing that statement on. A human is so complex that to just say the entire being is abnormal isn't realistic. People Do it, but it doesn't really mean much. Everyone has quirks. Everyone has something 'abnormal' about them in comparison to other people. Some more than others, of course. It's the glory of the human race.

I'm no good at dictionary entries, but here's a more concise, all-around answer offhand:

A specific, largely-constant or dominant trait between a group of things, people or ideas.

Asking what the definition of normal is about the same as asking what the definition of crazy is. Each person has their own interpretation of the term. Myself?? I don't believe in the word.. In reference to describing a person or a person's actions anyway.

I don't believe anyone is normal. We are all different with our own opinions and beliefs about the world. Its a little like asking what the definition of perfect is. No ones perfect just like no ones normal. People just often say that a persons not normal because the person doesn't have anything in common with them or very little but the person their talking about could have the same thoughts about that person. Hope this helps.

It's very difficult to define normal, isn't it?

I don't know- never been. Whatever it is- I'm the opposite. Whenever most people go one way- I go the other. As soon as you think you've got me figured out- I'll surprise you. I don't do it to be contrary, but I don't care if I am. I research all of the best ways to do something, find the one that works the best, and ardently follow it or build on it. Often, that means that I think different from everyone else. I prefer quality over quantity or popularity. At 6'8,' I physically stand out in a crowd, and yet sometimes my personality is bigger than I am. 'Fitting in' is a concept that after being in the military, I understand as it relates to camouflage, but other than that, have never experienced. I think that normalcy is something that many people know very well- I see them. I've met them. They are those who have sold themselves, not sold out, just they sell who they are, actually most of them have actually had to pay a lot to not be them anymore.

It's not that bad being not normal. Not normalcy is the birthplace of independence, and independence is the birthplace of heroism. Now, no, I am not a hero...

Well, not yet.

Normal is taken out of abnormality. Normal for mankind existed only in the physical presence of God (Eden). When man was expelled from that environment, normality ceased to exist; we can longer obtain normal this side of heaven. However, normality will be restored one day.
