Messianic Jew (Follows Jewish law but believe the messiah has already come)
I believe in G-d who sent his son to show his love for humanity to die on a cross. As Israel provided sacrafices for G-d as a sign of trust that G-d would provide for them; G-d did his as a sign that he would always love them and forgive. All who repent (Show genuine regret for what they have done) and believe that G-d sent his son to die will be given everlasting life.
Yeshua is the the greek spelling for the english word Joshua, but you would probably know him by the greek spelling Jesus.
The reason I follow this religion is because although Christainity is right by its definition in most aspects. The interpretation is what I disagree with. The reason I follow this religion is because its bible has proven to be historically accurate. It also describes in perfect detail the science of the earth and the universe.
Prophecy of the bible:
-Airplanes
-Bill Gates
-Computers and Satalites
-Reign of Cyrus
-Israel would become a nation
-Alexander the Great
These are just a few of many.
G-d Bless

Wow, so much ignorance in just two little sentences...
You proof is anything but. Try looking to science for answers, rather than an acient text written by uneducated superstitious men.
Why should that be a 'strange'question? Surely it's only natural to wonder about 'the eternal things', and how religion fits into the picture.
Like ichibanarky, I hold with Buddhism, especially the way it was lived and practised among the people I lived with for years in the Nepal Himalayas.
Maybe you could call it more a philosophy or a way of life, than a religion as such. Anyhow, I was struck by how happily people lived, even when they owned almost nothing. They cared about each other, and tried never to hurt anyone else - and that includes hurting their feelings.
I think we all have a lot to learn from them!
ps - forgot to say much about Buddhism and its ideas.
The core principles you can find in the Five Precepts that all taken by laypeople of the various forms of Buddhism around the world:
Not to kill
Not to lie
Not to steal (‘not taking that which is not freely offered’)
Not to abuse intoxicants
Not to abuse sexuality
Sound familiar? Of course - they are basic to almost all faiths. The great thing about Buddhism is that it doesn't load you down with things you must believe in, or practices that you absolutely must follow.
By the way, the Five Precepts are called pancha sila in Sanskrit - there's lots more about them on the Net.
I don't catagorize myslef in any religion. I believe that there is a God or are multiple Gods/Deitys. I don't believe that they are all loving as everybody thinks all Gods are, but that they are kind and are there to judge people when they die. That they will judge people not based on their faith, but their actions.
I also believe in the teachings of the Buddha and admire the way that they live and the rules that they choose to follow.
Messianic Jews were before the term Chritain was even used. Actually the term Christian was used as an insult.

Who is ignorant? The man who has read it and confirmed it or the man who claims that man liar without investigating? I am quite happy with my faith, dont bring your misery upon me.
I identify mostly with gnosticism. It is an esoteric christian faith. The Bible is interpreted radically different along with the scriptures of the Nag Hammadi Library. In my opinion it jibes with the New Testament... Old Testament and ancient Indo-European pantheistic/monotheistic beliefs.
Basically... mankind was incorporated into the material universe by the demiurge... a flawed deity that is incapable of the kind of benevolence as is the Pleroma or Most High God... embodied by Jesus who came to give mankind his counterpart... Sophia or the Holy Ghost to man so that man could achieve gnosis... and be reunited with the godhead. To me gnosis is the realization of the abstract.
Gnostics struggle to separate themselves from the material... the antithesis of goodness.
Gnosticism is a dead belief system... recently rediscovered. I don't ascribe wholeheartedly and leave myself free to differ... and I think that as an informal belief system... I can go in the direction I feel best.
Who is ignorant? The man who has read it and confirmed it or the man who claims that man liar without investigating? I am quite happy with my faith, dont bring your misery upon me.
How do you know I haven't investigated creationism? It is not science, and proves nothing about our origins. It is mythology, no different from zeus and odin. Ignorance is denying real scientific theory simply because it does't jive with your mythology.
And I have no misery to bring upon you. I am very happy and secure in my beliefs.
