What makes a person beautiful?

I spent my teenage years without mirrors in my room.I guess it is the first thing I would break when I am angry.I just couldn't associate what I saw in the mirror with who iam.AS if I was seeing someody else in it.It is just that I keep hearing my mother...

tell me things like,your too skinny,why aren't you as smart as I was?don't put that on don't put this on!There is just always something wrong with me.It reached a point where I was too shy too even lift my face up when I am walking.Like I am the ugliest person on the planet!
Then it came to me...this question...that resonated in my mind a couple of years ago,What does it trully mean to be beautiful?And who in tis world can be the judge of that?Since my mother couldn't answer that question,I realized , how can she set the standards of being beautiful when she doesn't know what it means to be beautiful herself.So I don't walk with my head down anymore.
But still,can anybody answer this question, what makes a person beautiful?

What makes a person beautiful isnt on the outside
its on the inside
what makes a person beautiful is there Courage and Determination
Your mother of all people should know that
Dont let her get you down
have confidence in yourself
Know1 has the right to tell you that your not a beautiful person
Then, if they do, its a good example of what makes a person NOT beautiful

What is 'inside' - beliefs/values/character.

what makes a person beautiful is their personality and who they are as an idividual. It

doesn't matter how you look whether skinny or fat. but I have to tell you, many will see

flaws in you, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. for ex.your mother tells you are you

too skinny but another person might say she perfect. Or your mother called you dumb

but because of your personality others will think your intelligent. Somebody could be the

ugliest person on this earth and have bruises all over his face. But a beatiful woman can

see him and love him and see him past his scars and sees his attractiveness threw his

personality and heart also beauty can be in the eye of the beholder someone might

think your ugly or too, skinny but I might see you and think your the most attractive woman

in the world so it is threw your personality and your heart so don't worry about your

physical appearance because even the stubborn charming men who truly sees

someone's heart will find themselves attracted to the person.

there is no such thing as being uglyi spend around 12 years of my life feeling fat and ugly but then its just cause you bring your self down so much to see if you are prettyor notthe other people that were around me that were so prettythey turned out to have good genes

believe me I've been through what your going through!! well I dont think anybody know's what being beautiful means!! well sometimes u just have to guess to the closest thing well I think before you can say your beautiful u have to want urself to be beautiful, and u have to no deep down inside that u are beautiful and no matter if people think your ugly or whatever just know that deep down inside yourself that your beautiful and well thats what I think beautiful means and hopefully you will too!! I've spent half of my life (like 12+) feeling awkward and not that pretty and it's just gotten worse and worse, to the point where I hate everything about my face and feel severely depressed whenever I see myself in the mirror. I've spent a lot of time trying to understand why I feel this way and trying to convince myself that I'm beautiful on the inside and therefore on the outside as well. But nothing really works. Deep down I know that looks aren't important and that being a mean person can make even a supermodel look ugly because it really who you are on the inside that counts. I know that. But I don't think it's even about weather or not I'm pretty. I just want to look in the mirror and feel positive and happy with what I see regardless of how pretty I am. I think that's what beautiful is. Someone who's kind, with a good heart, who is comfortable and happy with who they are. I guess that's the problem. I know I'm a good person but I'm definitely not happy or comfortable with who I am...yet. But I'll keep working on it. I hope that helped.

Of course...looks on the outside are beautiful, but if you are a terrible person, your looks are ruined when someone finds out how you are.

after 25 years of struggling with my self-esteem and looks I have something to say. a few people have commented on my acne and why I am so thin. I am so depressed about it. GOD alone is the judge of true beauty - and it has absolutely nothing to do with the outer appearance of it. Rather, your sincerity and integrity are much more important. don't worry about the outside because GOD values the inside much more. we live in a superficial world and many people are ignorant.
