What kind of dog is a springer spanial?

I was reading a blurb about a springer spanial dog, and the site didn't have any details on it. Can anybody tell me what the characteristics are of a springer spanial dog breed?

The full name is English Springer Spaniel. The English Springer Spaniel is a medium-sized sporting dog, so they need a LOT of exercise.

Springers are very affectionate dogs and require attention from their human companions daily. (But really, what dogs don't?)

The correct temperament of the English Springer Spaniel is a happy, out-going, friendly attitude toward all people. They also train very easily.

I grew up with Springer Spaniels. They are great dog's with families. The only thing to look out for are the inbreeding that has happened with these dogs, you might end up with a dog who has Springer Rage. This is when suddenly your perfectly well behaved dog turns into someother wild animal. They may attack. This condition is not too common. But something to consider. Our 2 springers were so different. The male was a product of inbreeding and although he was of championship breeding, he was stupid. But a sweetie. The girl was a sweetie too and so smart and very quick to learn all the things we taught her.

As the 'mom' of two English Springer Spaniels, I can maybe help a bit. They are an English hunting dog, but they make wonderful pets. They have a happy, playful, loving disposition. Springers are easily trained and eager to please their owners. They can be liver and white, black and white or 'tricolor' which is liver, white and black. Springers are medium sized dogs - my female weighs about 35 pounds and my male is closer to 60 pounds. They need a lot of space to run, play and exercise, and they love a lot of interaction with their people.
A registered Springer Spaniel is kinda pricey, as all registered dogs can be, but I think they're well worth ot!

I have one ,very energetic.He always jumps on people and I can't stop him from doing it...Help if you can. Other than that he s a great dog

I would like to know how to tell if there is in breeding? You wrote about rage,sometimes when I enter the yard he jumps on me growling and statrs running around like a nut?Could this be to in breedging,he does this evry now and then.I try to distract him in doing this he usually calms down.

Springer Spaniels are well... springy! They are bouncy and energetic and they LOVE water , kids , and toys. They also come in many different varieties.
