If a person is so dangerous to society, and he has shown it by particularly heinous killings or multiple planned killings, then he needs to be permanently removed by state ordered and executed execution.

To me the only justification for violence is self-defense. Since criminals can be locked up where they are no longer a threat I can't justify executing them.

It's barbaric and unnecessary. It also eliminates the possibility of freeing someone wrongly convicted. Further, it's not even economical - executing a prisoner costs states more than imprisoning them.

I do believe in like 'a life for a life' but there are too many wrong convictions these dayts. like that guy that they thought killed his whole family and was put in jail for 9 years and just got prooven innocent. the authorities were like 'oh whoopsy sorry'.

The main purpose of a criminal justice system is to protect the rights of law-abiding citizens from criminal activity. Executions do nothing to protect society. Capital punishment is nothing but a form of vengence. The state should not be playing god and exacting revenge. Their only job should be to remove the threat from society. Life in prison does that.

As a Brit who has lived on both sides of the pond, I'm curious about your inference. Are you suggesting that the UK has a more sophisticated justice system? What do you think of the Dano Sonnex debacle? How about the kind and loving sentence that was handed to the killers of Kevin Johnson?

I'm not trying to illustrate that the US is better or the UK is better, but you chose not to answer this question directly, and instead, you judged a whole nation of people. What was behind that?
