Anyone know what this song is?

I heard a song the other day and can't figure out what it is. Problem is that I couldn't be sure I even heard the lyrics exactly correct, but it has a 70s (maybe early 80s, almost disco-like) beat and my best idea of what the lyrics are:

and in the chorus, a change of tempo sorta to
...this is the...
...this is the...
I think this is the way, this is the world or something like that.
