What is the morning after pill? My friend said you just take an overdose of birth control..but that sounds dangerous! What are the side affects of the morning after pill?

The morning after pill is actualy an emergency contraceptive pill that boosts your body with extra hormones in order to prevent ovulation or fertilisation. It was designed with the intention of helping women after they have had sex in order to prevent pregnancy. In a sens it is like an overdose of the birth control pill because instead of a small amount of hormones every day, you take a lot in one bunch. Though this pill is very commonly used without any type of serious side effects, unfortunetly some women do experience common (yet very short term) side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headaches, breast tenderness, dizziness, fluid retention and irregular bleeding. As with other types of medication their can also be complications therefore this pill should only be used as a last resort and not at all if possible. For more info go to: http://www.fwhc.org/...
