What is html?

I probably sounds stupid, but im technology illiterate. so what is HTML?

HTML is the programming code by which almost all webpages are written..it is like basic pascal or c...But optimised for the world wide web

A code that when posted on a Myspace or other profile, allows you to play music videos and pictures on it
