I think Emo is a music genre.

'Emo' is short for emotional but has now become much more than just a word. It is a scene now... Perhaps a fashion scene.

its those guys that want to kill themselves with a blade.[cutting their veins] I mean thats what ived been told.

Emo was originally a type of Music. Emo stands for 'emotional'. Now it is really a Label that people abuse. Emo people are well-known for attempting Suicide, or harming themselves by cutting themselves. But not all 'Emo's' are like that. It's another one of those labels like prep, Jock, and Nerd.

emo is mainly a style.
people try and say that its about 'cutting yourself' or 'crying'. its not about that.
emo people, usually teenagers, are just emotional. they listen to screamo and hardcore music... pretty much anything with screaming in it.

It's supposed to be a music genre. But now it has become epidemic. Everyone calls themselves that as a stereotype which is stupid. It's one to have the hair and the clothes and the music, but when you start to call yourself emo, than it's becoming stupid.

emo is when some one cuts there rist because of stress and pain
and does things that they shouldnt do

if someone is emo, that means they are overly emotional... (sometimes bi-polar)

Emo was a subgenre of punk rock in the 80's and early 90's who's original name was Emotional Punk. Now-a-days, everyone thinks it means people who are depressed and cut themselves and who wear what people consider 'emo fashion.'

emo is a type of music and its people who self harm. But their sence of fashion is great and so is their hair!!!

Emo is short for emotional. It branched off of the label goth around the '80s, actually. It's a label, like prep, jock, nerd, etc. The stereotypical version of emo listen to Hawthorne Heights, cries a lot, cuts themselves on a daily basis, has black hair, wears black clothes, and has several piercings. I actually think emo guys are hot(:
