What if people don't "approve" of the girl you like?

So I like this really shy girl, and thats a whole nother story, but she's not the prettiest or most popular of girls, but that doesnt matter right? I'm confused!!!

no it doesnt dude! if you like her for who she is then theres no problems if your mates dont except your reasons there not true friends! its who you like liking someone has nothing to do with popularity or looks you like her for her! its your choice! none of the other reasons matter apart from you like her you felt attracted to her nothing else!

Hi Masterzx95. It's me again. Of course it doesn't matter! You might wonder why your friends go out with the snobby "popular" girls but who cares, you don't have to deal with them. Be honest to yourself. Maybe your friends don't find her attractive but you do but you don't want to say you find her attractive b/c you're afraid your friends are going say you have bad taste. Be careful, they might end up wanting to hook-up with her after getting to know her through you...

Everyone has their own description of beautiful. Some may find the Victoria's Secret models attractive but some may find them ugly. I had a friend that liked this guy whom we (group of friends) thought was not too attractive but I respect her for seeing more than just his outside appearance.

You did say she is smart. Maybe your just the smarter one of your group of friends who prefer to have a smart girlfriend.
