Thanks heart55 - I'm sure that's it, not least because when I logged in again now, after a delay of many hours, the answer was there, all bright and shining. And net problems are a recurrent part of my life - not least since I find myself working from wonky dial-up connections in various weird parts of the world. (Hard to understand for those of you with broadband...)

This is what I thought I just asked Dana:
Why does my answer disappear and I get 'signed out'?

am signed out...I've signed in again, and the same thing happens.
