What does this poem mean?

this was just written by my ex and im a little confussed on what hes trying to say can someone tell me in detail ?

here I sit with my heart of stone.

they say its unfeeling and cold, this stone is the temprature of the water it stands or the fire it endures. this stone of mine is strong and rigid set firm in its stance. I am what I am.

my heart is heavy in this sapphire ocean. It sinks. The blue exchanged for the all consuming darkness. without the sunlight it grows cold, but with the leaving of the raging winds above it is at peace.

deeper and deeper. the pressure is unbearible, knowing it only will become stronger leaves me frantic.

all I have is hope, hope for the inferno. hope to become one with the fire. for this heart of mine to hot, so hot that it will shift and melt into the earth. one day to rise again to the turbulent world above but, wishing only to remain the heart of stone.

Ummm if I had a guess its about him trying to be strong and not show emotions or something…or that he just want to be loved…thats all I can think of hope I was close (=

Sorry to be so cynical, but if this ex wants to get back with you, then this poem is a tantrum for your attention. Might be a tantrum for attention either way.

Its not a bad poem. Kinda typical teenage angst and gloom, but the kid’s got potential. He maybe should lighten up though, take himself and situations less seriously. He’s still got a lotta living to do.

You know this guy. If you think he’s really feeling like he hopes to melt himself into inferno or play out some dire, literal version of his poem, then you should get help for him right away.
