Tell me what you think, and give a good solid reason.. :p

Levitt and Dubner showed a few years ago that the big drop in crime in the '90s in the US was directly correlated to the legalization of abortion 20 years before - an entire cohort of unwanted children that wasn't there resorting to crime. Whatever you may think of the moral implications of abortion, forcing women to bear unwanted babies has real social impact.

im against abortions unless you are under 13 and you are pregnant... everyone should have a chance to live a life

None of us have the right to decide for someone else - all we have the right to do is decide for ourselves.

I'm pro-choice: I don't feel I have the right to make a woman have a child if she doesn't want to, or is unable to. It's no other person's right to make that choice for someone else either. If an abortion is not something you'd ever do, that's fine, but it's not your decision to make for someone else.

ok what about rape victims and drug addicts where the baby has a very high chance of abuse and even death

I've thought about this a few times actually.
im only fifteen and I really dont want a kid.
so if I got pregnant I would probably freak out.
but.. im pretty much AGAINST abortion.
because its still a living thing, and if your mom had decided to get an abortion YOU wouldnt be here.
I understand if you would get raped or you were really young, how an abortion seems like the only answer.
to be honest, the pregnant chick is gonna do what they want anyways.

and I TOTALLY agree! I couldn't have said it better myself! We all need to mind our own business. Whatever a girl decides to do is her choice. We will not be there to help raise her child and we don't know the reasons behind why she wants an abortion. People just need to MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!

I wouldn't want anyone telling me what to do with my body, so I'm not going to be telling anyone what to do with theirs.

also circumstances with regards to WHY women have abortions are too varied to just generalize and say no.

For one: You are killing innocent lives.
For Two: All these people run around at have sex and expect not to get pregnant..but they do. SO DONT HAVE SEX if your worried about getting pregnant. The pill isn't always gonna work.
(And here I am not speaking to victims of rape and such, just those who choose to have sex and do it unprotected.)

Do you eat meat? Or even eat vegetables that had pesticides used on them?

I'm sure you'll point out that these are _human_ lives, but what makes humans so much more valuable than animals? Most people will agree it's because we're self aware, which a first-trimester foetus most certainly is not. Nor is it an independent creature, capable of surviving on its own, so the wishes of the mother take precedence.

That's a huge generalization. Abortion as birth control is the boogeyman here, but nobody, practically speaking, does it.

Rape victims??? okay.. Sad situation. But what does that have to do with the baby?? The baby is still innocent. People make stupid mistakes all the time..wether you believe it or not, it's happening right now! For ex. having unprotected sex.. And if you havent .. more kudos to YOU!! but instead of looking down on people who are already going through enough (making choices that will change their lives and them as a person forever) why dont YOU worry about YOU?? And try making your self a little bit more perfect, becuase thats what you think you are. Im PRO CHOICE all the way. All in all, nobody knows what they are talking about until they are in the particular situation.. If it's not yours.. stay out of it.

You know what is WORSE then killing innocent lives?
seeing those children reduced to poverty and starvation and being abandoned on street corners. you sit in your house all comfy and with almost every luxury, well guess what not everyone has that and not everyone has YOUR choices or you life either.

so you can't say it's killing innocent lives, because giving them a life is sometimes a lot worse for them then having an abortion.

Also it's a woman's BODY and should be her CHOICE as to what will be the BEST for her and her unborn child.

Everyone who is saying that it is up to the women to have a baby or not. Thats stupid, if they didnt want the baby then they shouldnt have had sex in the first place so its their own fault, dont take it out on the baby. if you were rapped and got prego, then give the baby up for adoption, its dont the babies fault for what someone did to you.

NEWS FLASH.

contraception CAN fail and certain married couples also do abortions.

a lot of young women (especially in poorer countries) are uneducated and have no way of obtaining that education and UNINTENTIONALLY fall pregnant.

furthermore why do you need to go through pregnancy and LABOR (which if you go search on this site is pretty painful and can be traumatic) if it wasn't your fault?

Also what about if the parents beforehand no that the baby will be mentally handicapped? That is what happened to my mother when she fell pregnant the 3rd time and she decided to have an abortion.

And you do realise that VERY FEW children do get adopted right?

ADOPTION isn't ALWAYS an option.
