What do I do with a nine-year-old?

my 9 year old sister is coming home for the first time in two years and I want to do something fun with her...what would you sudjest?

Well you could take her to the park.. however it might be too cold lol. Maybe take her to the cinema, go watch a movie..
Maybe take her to the shops,
Or you could do some stuff at home, like painting, playing games etc =]
Are there any ice skating rinks/bowling alleys near you? Take her to some of those.

Let her decide! Ask her what she likes to do. And tell her whatever she wants to do, as long as it's reasonable, you guys can do it! She'll love that you're letting it up to her!

shopping. Kids love that and maybe like go out to lunch or something.

your sister probabaly has changed a lot since the last time you seen her. I know mine did. she left all girly and came back all punk rock. find out what her interests are, and then go from there. is she a book worm? go to the public library and spend a few hours there. buy her a hot cocoa and just relax. is she into sports? go to some sort of event in town. music? buy her a cd and hang out and listen to it with her. there are a lot of things to do, kind of have her decide, and she will think your still the cool big sister

thanks guys..you have no clue how much this helps..she was 6 when she left(she actually turns 9 in feb.) I'm soo excited about seeing her! hopefully we'll have lots of fun..

yeah I agree let her decide or take her to the zoo or shopping out to eat watch her favorite movie together. have a girls nite in just you and her makeup each other pamper each other.

Here's something that works unless she is unable to walk: Iceskating/Rollerblading! I have a 9-yr old sister and she loves to do that.

Nine is a pretty easy age to deal with..they like doing just about anything of interest I would sujest something educational like a zoo. Or some type of art and ceraft thing also you could play bord games or go for a walk and take pictures.
