It could be bronchitis (however you spell it) if you have had it before or know any family members that have, you might be prone to getting it aswell. Talk to your family doctor if it keeps up
coughing up blood is a HUGE sign of tuberculosis (Tb). ask them to test you for it. it's a simple sking test...but I would DEFINITELY request a test.
good luck.

if you have been coughing a lot you can sometimes irritate your throat, which makes it bleed a little..so you see blood in the mucus when you cough. There are tons of different strains of the flu, so if you had one that was different then this, it doesnt mean that this isnt the flu. If they checked you for TB then they probably check you for pneumonia too. The flu does typically have a really high fever, headache, coughing, congestion, body aches, feeling extremely tired. Sometimes there is a sore throat or vomiting.
When you cough a lot your chest starts to get that sharp pain in it from all the congestion and the constant coughing, and then it can cause your throat to be sore or bleed a little.
The high fever alone can cause a bunch of symptoms like shaking and dizziness..
it might not be anything major but if someone is coughing up blood I would always recommend a visit to a GP as it can be indicative of a more serious problem like TB as previously mentioned so its good you got it checked out. Hopefully the doctors didnt miss anything and hope you feel better soon!

Is this really the common flu?
Send me Fun Mail
Okay well all today I was coughing my guts out..literally I was coughing blood!!!&& then it got to the point where the nurse from my school sent me home because I could even stand up without almost falling so my mom went & picked me up && then I got a bad fever I had 103.7 so my mom freaked & took me to the hospital and they said it was the common flu and I'm like ?!?!?!?! What! Like the common flu does not have those symptoms & plus my chest hurts ever time I cough so can anyone here tell me what's going on because obiously the doctor was no help...so do y'all have any suggestions or any pain killers? & could this have something to do with the 3 pain killers I took last night?
Thanks,
Irene
