don't put any other type of fish in there... you could put plant like things in there or little rocks at the bottom and you could also put this big rock thing and it can hide in there...

tetras
neons
cories
african dwarf frogs
ghost shrimp
female guppies

all of those work...but I'll be honest with you, you really should get a filter and a 2 to 5 gallon tank. the more room you have the less likely your betta is to get aggressive and nippy. make sure any fish you put in there is around the same size as your betta, not much bigger, or much smaller...you don't want the tankmates to become food or have the betta end up being food.

I have three males myself, and they all live in a large 10 gallon tank...they aren't nippy towards each other because each of them have their own territory and hiding places...I even have severals frogs and shrimp with them as well and they all get along pretty well. Bettas are only mean when they feel they have to defend territory or want a female...don't put a female in a tank and they'll do fine.

but again...get a bigger tank and a filter. your betta will be happier, less angry and more likely to be content with a bigger space.

now, you have a divider between them? try a few water plants and some places for them to hide. Females aren't normally nippy or mean, but there's always the random chance you'll get a mean one...

just be careful with how you introduce them and give them each their own space. keeping bettas in a enclosed, small space is what normally makes them mean...they need swimming room.
