What breed is my dog?

Hi, I just got a small dog from and animal shelter about 2 weeks ago. I am wondering what breed he is. he has short hair a black muzzle and bulging eyes. He wieghs about 10 pounds. any ideas? thanks.

Hes not a jack russel is he? Put up a pic if you can or go onto a dog website and see if you can find one similar.

A picture would make all the difference...Pugs, Bostons, Pekes all have bulging eyes...Criminy...you didn't even say what color he is...does he have an undercoat, or is he smooth?

It's hard to say, without a picture, but it sounds like you have a Chihuahua! Does your dog look anything like my Chihuahua Bandit? This is Bandit, in the picture!

Yeah he is totally a Chi mix, maybe some terrier of some sort.

Looks Chi to me, too...can't tell how big he is, so maybe Miniture Fox Terrier, too...

When you said 'bulging eyes'...I was thinking BULGING EYES...LOL...his eyes look well set in his head...

Yeh definatelly a chi mix. The eyes are so big and cute but I wouldnt say bulging. Almost looks like a bit of greyhound. You know those skinny ones?

mhhmm. I kina thought it was a chihauhau but hes kind of big and he has a longer nose. Grayhounds are 50-60 pounds so thats not even close.

Whippets are miniture greyhounds...they weight maybe 10 lbs...Maybe he's got a little of that in him??
