well, donny, there are several schools of thought on the subject.

one measure is to go by the *average* size and strength of the bear. in this case, the polar bear wins, because the average weight of a grown adult is 900-1500 pounds.

another measure is to go by the *largest* bear ever seen, which is a *Kodiak* brown bear. (the people who said just brown bear are WRONG. that is false - it is the kodiak bear, which is a brown bear, but clearly distinct from the common brown bear). the largest bear ever recorded was a kodiak weighing over 2,500 pounds.

if you're measuring by the danger to humans and number of attacks, then the kodiak brown bear polar bear both tie for second place, along with the grizzly. the most dangerous bear in the wild, which poses the greatest threat to humans, is the sun bear, which, ironically, is one of the smallest bears.

finally, bears do NOT eat beets. that's ridiculous.
