I don't think anyone thinks that abortion is wonderful. but until all babies are wanted, loved and cared for, until birth control is not a taboo subject in schools, until every single pro-life supporter adopts one of these unwanted babies...
it is needed. life ends when you draw your last breath...just as it begins when you draw your first.
over the years I have stopped my car at 6 different pro-life protest marches in front of abortion clinics. all the mothers pushing the baby strollers, all the many men, knowing what is right for a woman.
I have stopped my car and have asked if anyone there protesting has an adopted child. to this day, NO ONE PROTESTING HAD A CHILD THAT WAS ADOPTED.
put your money where your mouth is.
it's not enough to deem something wrong, you have to be willing to be part of the solution. adopt a child. foster a child. work to have birth control discussed in schools.
Birth control is not discussed in schools in the US? Wow. Is that the case in all states? In my 1980s Catholic school the nuns had to show the CSE Biology class CONDOMS of all things! (The capitals are to do with Catholic nuns, not with 'shock, horror, condoms' you understand.) So, as a Brit, I'm not familiar with the notion that birth control isn't taught in school. It seems unwise.
I know that the lowest abortion rates in Europe (and the latest age of first sexual experience) are in the countries with a progressive attitude towards sex education. Makes you think...
I'm Pro-Choice,
But I battle with myself a lot over it. I can't really say what I am because I've never had to be in that situation, thank god. But all I know is if I got pregnant now at 17 I wouldnt be able to handle a baby, I want a baby so bad but I couldnt handle it and giving it up or adoption would kill me because I want one so badly.. so really I dont know what im for I try not to judge thats all. Everyone has there own personal views and they should be respected its just want you can live with.
I am pro-choice. It is a decision that should be made by the woman. It is not the best choice, but once the pregnancy starts it is a viable one.
The best choice by far is pregnancy prevention ...
abstaining is good but in reality doesn't happen enough (look at how often girls on this site have questions on whether they are pregnant!)
Good THOROUGH sex education (not the crap that Bush is pushing)
Availability of BC pills, condoms, etc.
Availability of the morning after pill to anyone (this is NOT an abortion pill. It is the same medicine as in BC pills, but at a stronger dose.)
The sex education would include empowering girls TO SAY NO to boys. And letting them know that boys that try to push this are not worth staying with.
The problem with many people is that they want to punish these young women. But do they really want children raising children?
If we as a society could go through one complete generation with nothing but mature stable parents, ready and able to raise their kids, this world would be making a huge step toward sanity.
I'm pro-choice.
Vaccuum aspiration in late abortions and partial birth abortions(what mamk describes) should be avoided in my opinion. If you're that far along then you should finish a pregnancy and do adoption.
Here's my view point: Every woman should know if she were to get pregnant if she would want an abortion or not. Then at the earliest sign of pregnancy they should take action if they plan on abortion. Medical abortions are an induced miscarriage basically. (the abortion pill is NOT the same thing as the morning after pill. Once a fertilized egg is implanted into the uterus the morning after pill will do nothing.)
Abortion shouldn't be used as a birth control. If a woman plans on not having children and being sexually active then she should be on some type of birth control and should only result to abortion if birth control methods fail.

I am pro-choice when it comes to this issue. I don't think it is right to make someone who has been a victim of rape or incest (which is one of the most traumatizing things a girl or woman can go through I would imagine) keep a baby that they didn't want in the first place. There are many reasons someone in that situation would not want to be pregnant: they didn't consent to sex, they have many goals and dreams of their own that a baby won't fit into, pregnancy affects your body dramatically and they didn't ask for that, etc. On the other hand, if you had unprotected sex you should be responsible for you actions and give the baby up for adoption if you don't want it, but abortion in that case is immature and selfish. I also think that it depends on how far along you are in your pregnancy. By the way, this question gets asked too much...
I don't feel it's wrong its a personal option and is very serious matter.it's not a excuse for unsafe sex and thinking you can take away a little mistake by abortion but what about in raping cases where women have a choice to get rid of something that probably tramitizes them. I think in some circumstances abortion is okay and I don't think it should look down upon in society as harshly as it is.I don't think it's right for someone to bring a child into the world if the parents are not fit to raise it either because it's unfair and wrong for the child.I think abortion should be something that someone can choose not something where people don't have a choice. It's hard for the mother to having to kill her unborn baby and I think it's just if there are good reasons and the cons outweigh the pros. I just don't think it's right for a child to be brought into the world if it's not wanted
I think abortion is wrong but I have never been pregnant. I think abortion could be used in the cases of known severe retardation, incest and rape. I think it is each mothers final decision to make. I think their is to much of it going on now a days which I think people should be more responsible for the things that they do. Once you have an abortion you can't change it, abortion is final just like death.
I think it is wrong. Abortion is murder. If you don't want the child give it up for adoption, there are many families longing to have a child that can't get pregnant. I think the mother's should still have the choice, but I myself just couldn't take away someone's life. Maybe, if I was in that situation I'd think different, but for now I think it is wrong. Hope this helps.
