what are the three types of formal all I can think of is formal and semi formal what is the third one and all three of there definitions?

The three types of formas I'm aquainted with are:

Black tie: generally a standard black tux for guys, gals wear a cocktail dress.

White tie: Even more formal, tux with tails for men and full length formal dresses for women.

Daytime: less formal. Generally a 3 piece suite for men and anything that looks nice is fine for women.

Most of the parties I go to aren't formal but call for 'dressy casual' which I interpret as slacks and a sport coat or nice sweater.
