What are the chances of pregnancy?

Irish Dancer Asked by lil_blue_mermaid 5 months ago, 1 answer.

Okay, so I am on Reclipsen birth control. I did miss a couple pills this month but I made them up the next day. I was supposed to start my period on tuesday, I had some cramping and what not the week before, but I have ot started my period yet. My breasts are super tender and there are slight changes, but I think that happens with my period anways a bit. I know I get a little sore wiht my period.

I am not underage and I am engaged to be married next spring, btu I am a little freaked. My fiance does not want kids and I dont want to ruin his life. I have PCOS so with out birtch control I am very irregular, but I have never missed aperiod on birhtcontrol andI have bene on it since I was 16. I also had a 14 pound weight gain over the las tmonth, I know I am bloated up a bit right now, I am also a bulimic so this weight gain has freaked me out very badly. What are the chances, I am scared, what should I do? I want kids some day but not like this I dont want him stuck in this. What should I be looking out for? What could cause me to miss my period? Could it still come late?

First, don't freak, everything is ok. Second, your probably not pregnant you are just experiencing a bit of hormonal problems because you missed some pills. Third, you need to deal with the bulimia asap because this is a real health problem.

The pill is a mix of hormones which stop you from ovulating. In order for the pill to be most effective, you need to keep the same level of hormones in your system at all times. This is why you must take a pill every day. When you miss one and even if you take it as soon as you remember it can cause problems in the balance of hormones in your system. This can lead to unwanted pregnancy (when you don't use a condom!) or symptoms like your period coming late, early, being longer or shorter. The fact that you had cramping and symptoms related to your period (breast swelling and bloating) indicates that you probably are not pregnant. Also, stress and bulimia can also mess with your period and make it come later the usual.

My advice is give it a few days and if you pass the whole week without getting your period then get a pregnancy test at the pharmacy. Keep taking the pill everyday. If you miss a pill, use condoms until the end of the month of pills. To stay healthy mentally and physically get help for your bulimia which can do must more damage then an unwanted pregnancy.
