Study and read more then you do.. its helps if you write notes as you read.
just keep reading and reading its not really how to get smarter people are naturally born with a brain so just find a good study habit ..
It took me a while before I found a perfect way to study and that alll night study the day before an exam dosnt work for me I need time in advance or else ill fail...
anyways I hope I helped.

first start off with something you really like studying about.for example say your interested in Pearl Harbor and you want to study more about it well instead of just diving in just start off with little things like what events lead up to it? who was involved? when did it start? etc. you know things like that
