Lots of whole grains... try putting some wheat germ on top of cereals, in muffins, etc, whole wheat flour when baking, stay away from white flour, white bread... it is not healthy in any way. Eat lots of veggies... dark green leafy veggies are the healthiest... like spinage and kale... also celery (which is a good diet snack), carrots, avocados, onions, garlic (which strengthens the immune system), and so many more... Try to consume minimal sugars... stay away from koolaid, Gatorade, (most prepackaged drinks), candies, ice cream, cupcakes, etc, etc. and though fruits are said to be healthy, they also have a lot of sugar in them so you must also eat it in moderation. Read meats are alright to eat sometimes but white meat (poultry) is always going to be the safest and healthiest. For dairy, choose skim milk or 1%, buy low fat sour cream and cottage cheese and if you are going to purchase ice cream, get it low fat.
The best of luck to you!
I dont know that much about food but...
...you know most things can actually be healthy when you eat them sensibilly. in moderation. so a bit of red meat for instance steak, a couple of veg, corrots and peppers I prefer them roasted. and a nice dessert like srtawberries and cream. just ballance your foor, try and steer away from the fryed stuff and the fast food. thats bad for you.
hope I've help anyways
from naomi.
I know a lot about food, which comes in handy when your reading the ingredients. Its not about what the calorie consumption is or the carbs. Its all about what is in the ingredients. If what is in the food is a lot of chemicals, hydrogenated oils ( which guarentees longer shelf life its bascially a chemical) hugh fructose corn syrup, mono sodium glutamate( MSG flavor enhances in a lot of foods) and atrificial coloring and flavor, it doesnt matter whether it has 100 calories or 350, if whats in it is unhealthy then don't eat it. For example almonds and nuts have fats and calories, but its good fats like mono and poly unsaturated fats. Just read the ingredients, if you cant pronounce it, dont eat it !!
