What are promise rings?

I've heard about them. My friends boyfriend gave her one. I want to know what they are.

Cause I might get my girlfriend one.

A promise ring is a ring that your give your girlfriend and it just means you will be faithfull no matter what. Usually its when you go off to different colleges and you want to stay together.

uberdrastic is right, also its sort of like a wedding ring except your not actually married. your basically giving your life to that person and you want only them for the rest of your life. so unless your 100% sure about that girl dont get her one because if you ever break it she will be a lot more than CRUSHED.

It's basically just a ring that someone gives to their partner to promise to love them forever. It's a nice thing to do if you're completely sure you want to spend your life with your partner. It's also nice to give your girlfriend a ring that belongs to you, so she sees just how much you love her.
