I believe that marijuana should be legal in small amounts,and at an age limit.
I think it should be like new Hampshire,where your allowed a small amount,at the age of 18-When your an adult and can make smarter choices.
Marijuana helps calm you down,and its bene proven to help symptoms of glaucoma,and even AIDS.
However,when used,its important to make sure you dont let it control your life.
I was a heavy smoker last year and I stopped caring about shcool and my grades were slipping.I quit for a few months,and got my grades uo,and now Ill smoke a bit once in a while.

I don't know. I don't think so, since it can take away a life. But then again, many things could take away a life. It's anyone's decision to use weed if they want to. I just think they make wise choices.

Marijuana should be legall because for the goverment it would save so much money. we spend so much on keeping it illegall. plus people would be so much more chilled out if it was and our crime rate would go down too. including fights I mean how many times have you seen a high person gett into a fight rather then a drunk person ??

All drugs should be legal. Drug abuse should not be a law enforcement issue, it should be a health issue. It is a lot cheaper to put someone in rehab then to put them in jail.

And amblessed, pot is not addictive. Pot is habit forming, but is not a physical addiction. And even if it was addictive, that is not a valid reason. Tabbaco and alcohol are both addictive, and they are legal.

actually, marijuana has a different effect on each person. some do well with smoking, finish school, have great jobs, wonderful families. some don't, smoking all day, blowing off their school work, living in their parent's basement. some want to smoke all the time, others, don't.
it all depends on the person YOU want to become...

amoeba, the reason they say pot is a gateway drug that leads to worse drugs is the fact that most addicts smoked pot before trying the harder stuff. But even more of them started with alcohol. So why don't they consider alcohol a gateway drug. I think the correlation is weak.

I have no idea. I assume that alcohol has a huge lobby and brings in tremendous revenue. it is easy to tax and control alcohol, harder with weed.
also, I think that this country is so controlled by fearful, right wingers marijuana will always be viewed as a hardcore drug. we are not as progressive as other lands.

and as a smoker for many, many years...it all depends on what you want to do with your life.

I just think the whole idea of prohibition is ridiculous. It doesn't stop those who will abuse drugs/tabacco/alcohol. Pick your poison.

couple reasons why it should be legalized:
-will be removed from black market and stop empowering gang members
-medical reasons
-would be sold like alcohol, remember alcohol was once prohibited too (in stores away from children, have to be 21+)
-would be a law that you cant drive while intoxicated on weed
-prison population would lower (prisons are overcrowding with nonviolent offenders)
-keep patients from being convicted
-would provide millions of jobs for people
-would make us an independent country (fuel, etc.., debt free america)

people with an addiction (including hard drugs) shouldnt be thrown in jail, they need help
theres more people in jail with mental illnesses than there are in mental institutions
