For the most part the term "Web 2.0" is what people are calling the proposed upgrades to the core of the Internet. Much of it deals with the way computers talk to each other and how the information is being passed and tracked. For email, it means that you'll be getting less spam. Since any email sent has in the header code the name and address of the server that should have set it. A server that gets an email will then read what server "sent" the email and then ask the sending server if it really sent the email. If the server responds "yes" the mail shows up in your box. If the server responds "No" the email is deleted. A very simple and easy way to remove spam. However, currently not everyone supports the proposed changes so things haven't moved very far into "Web 2.0."
