In theory, global warming is the aggregate rise in actual temperature compared with past years climate cycles due to excessive carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

The reason for the exessive carbon dioxide or CO2 is fossile fuels, rain forest clearing, etc - but this is all theory, there is some evidence to support it (see al gore's movie the inconvenient truth for a good run down of the best evidence to suppor the claim) however, the dinosaurs died out due to dramatic climate shift...so, it could be natural. Too early to tell, according to most.

Where it gets warmer and warmer and melts the polar ice caps. It might even kill the poor Polar Bears. I don't want that to happen.
