The weasel can be found almost anywhere in Canada. The slender (thin) body allows it to enter underground burrows and into a den of an animal that it has killed. They usually hunt at night and killing its prey by biting it at the back of the neck. The weasel may be small but it is a good fighter and moves in a flash. It is a silent hunter and can approach without a sound, then rush upon its prey. The weasel's coat changes color. The brownish summer coat turns white for the winter. Just the tip of the tail stays black. Some say that a weasel smells worse than the skunk (because of its musk glands ).

Ferrets are small, quiet, fastidious and incredibly social. Ferrets reach adult weight around 4 to 6 months of age and will attain maximum body size at six months. Their basic color categories are albino and sable. Within the sable categories, you will find color varieties such as chocolate, cinnamon, champagne and silver mitt. They are known for their musky odor which virtually disappears when a ferret is spayed or neutered.

Weasel’s are wild animals and cannot be bought or domesticated. However ferrets are people friendly and can be owned. However, California and Hawaii rule ferrets as illegal pets.
