Should I wait for my boyfriend who is in jail?

my boyfriend been in jail 11 months now. he has 8 months left. I was wondering should I wait for him . I know him for 7yrs. but we been together for 2 years. and I love him a whole lot. cause we have a 4yr old daughter together.

It's up to you. Do you think he is worth waiting for? Do you think you and your daughter would be better off with him or without him?

No. Run for your life. And your daughter's.

I think you should wait for him but this does not mean that meantime you could not be with a man .

Itz your choice.If you feel like he is worth tha wait, go for it.
If you just want to be with your daughter, thatz a good decision too..
If you really love him, you'll do what's right, but We don't know whats right, only You do..

well im going to jail and I expect my boyfriend to wait 4 me if you really love sum one you find it in your heart to wait

'Really loving' someone has nothing to do whether or not you will support them in going to jail. Robbery? Drugs? Violence? Theft? Those are the things that land you for extended periods of time. If someone you 'love' goes to jail for a year or more, then they have committed a serious offense and ultimately, they are dangerous. Why isn't going to jail for being a criminal reason enough to get dumped? 'Oh but I love him/her'. Pa. Leeze.

Choose men that are upstanding with moral character. Especially if you are going to make babies with them. To me, if my man goes to the pokey for that long, it's pretty much a deal breaker. I ain't waiting around to give my body to a dude with no respect for society or law or rules or himself or me. Why should I? Does it mean I never loved him at all? How about the fact that if *he* loved *you*, he wouldn't make a baby with you and then get thrown in the slammer so he can't support or father his child.

There are no excuses.

If you disapprove of his being in jail..
You should set up your own rules and minimum requirements for a relationship. For example, most people have a 'no hitting me' rule, right? Well you have all kinds of rules in your relationships, but most of the time, you won't even know they are there.

Sit down and figure out what your rules are: is 'no jail time' a rule? Is it a minimum requirement like no smoking or no hitting, or any other rule? If so, then don't wait for him.

If you have no issues with him being in jail..
You should visit him in jail and talk it out. Whether a relationship is long-distance, or consumed by work and overtime, or with someone in jail, you still have to talk it out, everytime. Visit him, and explain the whole situation. Is there another guy? Are you tired of wrapping your life around his sentence? Are you tired of raising your kid alone?

Once you figure out those answers, then you have to figure out your minimum requirements? For example, you can say 'I can wait one more month before I really need someone around again.' or whatever your needs are. Or you can say, 'I have needs, and you're not here. So I am going to leave you here. When you get out, we will explore how to create a new relationship starting where we left off.' You can't wait if you have pressing needs. You need to re-negotiate a temporary situation while he is gone. Good luck!!
