W3c validation

this is the last one I tried Asked by connielane about 1 year ago, 1 answer.

Thanks to your wonderful help I was able to publish my web pages to my web site. So my site is now up and running and everything works just the way it is supposed to. But I thought it looked a little boring and uninteresting so I thought I could make another one with more pazsaz , now that I know how easy it is to publish another. So I did. It looked good and I went for W3c verification and it didn't pass because of application/octet - stream. I Googled it to see what that means but I still don't know because I am just barely computer literate. Since you did such a great job of getting me to understand so much now, maybe you can get me to understand this so I can fix it.
I feel like I'm getting a free course in web design. Thanks

An application/octet - stream would be an indication that a text file contains binary data. That is an odd error to get with a world wide web application. What sort of pagemaking software are you using. Dreamweaver has a built in browser checker. Frontpage is.... well..... let's just say it is not the favorite amongst webmasters for the odd code it spits out. Don't worry so much about getting your validation. I am new to the whole webmaster bit and I don't know too much about the necessity of the validation.
