How to stop taking vicodin?

I have been taken vicoden for 8mo . I hear a lot of bad things about the drug I take it for a sholder injury I am trying to stop taken them but when I donot take them I get a sideof fet like headack mostly irriated what can I do . Thank you

dont stop taking them just becaues you hear a lot of bad thing about it. if it helps your pain take it and when you dont need it for the pain n.e more tell you doc you want off and he will ween you off it by lowering you doses till you are complete off never just stop taking somthing when you have been on a narcodic of a amount of time your body will go thought with draws and thats were your headache are coming from! hope this helps

The biggest problem with using Vicodon long term is that your body gets used to it and it doesn't work as well. You might ask your doctor about Fentynal patches. They're harder to accidentally OD on too.

I would say you addicted to them...this girl I no has been taking like atleast 7 vikes a day everyday for the past 5 years...now her back is all f*cked up and she didn't even know it cause she takes vikes all the time and she never felt it!! its pretty crazy, but I would def. try to stop...pill poppins bad!! lol

That's called a 'Rebound Headache'. Don't stop taking the meds until you notify your doctor. You'll have to do it, like say you take 6 a week, then, 5, then 4, then 3 and so on. Hope this helps!
