How much would it cost to buy a cheap violin? Where would I get a cheap one?
How about renting one? How much does that cost???

ohemgee... violins are friggin EXPENSIVE. at least a couple $100... and its bettr to buy then rent, if you know that your gonna be dedicated to playing it... and its super expensive to pay for unless you decide to borrow from a friend... lol.

you have to really watch tho...you will get what you pay for..if you are wanting one to just start out and learn to play at this point, cheap is okk, if you want one for great quality sound...you will have to pay more...my daughter started playing in the 4th grade is is now in 11th grade...I rented hers for a couple years till she was able to get her own...I pd about 45.00/mo to rent at that time...the instrument she got now really isnt the best out there, but it works for her...we got a used one from someone else and pd about 200.00 and the sound is diff than that of higher quality ones...be careful what you purchace on ebay or the internet...if its too good to be true, it most likely is...if you cant check the intrument out before purchase, may want to skip it...also, you need to decide the size you need...there are half, quorter and full size...thats why we waited to buy untill my daughter was in a full size...Good luck!

Violins have a lot of range in pricing. Mine was $1200, but its a very good instrument. You can rent one for a school year for around $100-$200 depending on the place. Good luck!
