I found this article very interesting. I am worried about what is happening to our economy. We need a change right now more than ever. So much of our national debt has been caused by the war, and I understand that, and a lot more by unwise spending.

They are sending out the stimulus package, which as I understand it means we are borrowing from ourselves for next years taxes, not sure if I have that right or not. The problem is they are expecting people to use it to buy more stuff, but most of those getting it are going to use it to pay off their own debt. Myself, I am going to put half of it toward rent and half toward oil, and pray that I can get more in January because this means that I wont be getting the full amount then. I have no idea what to do! ARGGGHHH!!

Seems pretty dire to me. As a percentage of our economy our deficit is lower than it was immediately after WWII so it is possible to recover but I don't think it will be easy.
