You're at an 18 gauge? That's TINY. That's a regular earing. I'm at 7/16th. Gauges will shrink back down. I have plenty of friends who got rid of theirs. I think when you reach 1/2 inch is as big as you can go before they wont shrink down.
I'm like the master with gauges. My friend Nik has everything gauged :S
no, if your holes were about the size of the dime
and if youve had them in for about a year or a lot more, then generally no
skin thats that far apart cant re-connect itself or grow back together
if the hole has healed around the peircing...then its healed
it wont ever grow back
youll need surgery to ger it looking normal again if you want it
this is what kids need to think about first before they run off and gauge there ears because it looked cool
this is really something people need to think about before they start. I havnt wore my gauges in 2 years, I was at an inch when I took them out, and my ears have only reduced down to 7/16 and wont shrink anymore.
I have known people to come down from big gauges like mine to completely healed but you have to gauge up first and then take it out and let it heal again and repeat several times.
I'm at 5/8 right now and I have to take them out for work. What I heard is the best way to close them up without looking like a retard is go back down. Every week. Go back to one size smaller than you are at. You wont have the weird looking holes in your ears when you go down and you get to enjoy them for a while. Hope that helps.

I think you Mean 18g, not 18 inch gauge. that'd be crazy.
Also, Gauges is a form of mesurement that people use, saying a 18 inch gauge would be like
Nice 8 cenimeters miles just no sense.
anywayyy, depending on the person and the elasticty of their ear, it could close up naturally.
Normally the so called breaking point is around sizes 0 - 00G.
Though, if you are wondering if a 18g will close up, absolutely yes it will.
:]
hope I helped.
you ear can always go back down if you do it right, your suppose to go backwards from the size you are to the size you started, it really does work, I know somebody that was at an inch whos' ear blew out and it went back down to regular ear ring size. And I always know somebody who went to a 00g and his ears havent closed all the way, its werid how it works but you just have to do it right,
I hate people that call them gauges ears, its called streching, and I also hate people that say once you get to a certain point they will never go back, if your gonna give wrong answers dont speak, I had my ears at 3/4 inch for nearly 2 years and took them out a couple months ago and there still healing but id say there at about a 6g right now
my ears were at 11/16, which is quite big I guess. I've been closing them for about 2 months and theyre at 0, I am hoping theyll go smaller and im sure they will. I hear the best way to shrink is to stretch them a size or 2 bigger before you shrink them, I just hear that works
