Does iui implantation bleeding mean pregnancy?

Ok.. Here Goes.. I had a tubal reversal on December 13th 2006, I'm 43 years old and the surgery was a success. No problems, lots of tube etc. My cycle went back to normal after the surgery. On April 15th my cycles started (nothing out of ordinary) (28 day cycle like clock work) - I had an ultrasound on the 27th of April and doc pinpointed ovulation for the following Monday, April 30th -- I had an in office IUI (intra-uterine insemination) done on the 30th of April during pinpointed ovulation. On May 7th I noticed very light bleeding (kind if pinkish red) -- this is seven days after ovulation and IUI and roughly seven days before my next expected period... I've never had, or dont ever recall anyway, having implantation bleeding with my past five pregnancies, is it possible that this is implantation bleeding? ~ It's been 14 years since my last pregnancy so I am a little bit rusty at all this stuff... I'm really trying to reserve my hopes and disappointments at this moment.

Sorry if its TMI but, I have found myself both 'excited' and 'scared' 'disappointed' and 'still hopeful' ~ Very frankly, I'm a total mess this morning because I just don't know what to think. I'm not even sure when I should start taking home pregnancy tests -- I had anticipated taking a test on the 14th of May, when my cycle would be one day late... Now.. I'm not even sure of that... Yipes Ladies! Can you fill me in, help me out?

Your doctor can perform a blood test now to test pregnancy or you can wait another week and take an at home pregnancy test.

Of course you aren't 'out of the woods' with a positive pregnancy test. You can have a positive pregnancy test and end up with a chemical pregnancy, a blighted ovum, or the embryo could have a condition incompatable with life. I'm not trying to discourage you but I remember the rollercoaster of emotions when my wife and I went through infertility treatments. Remember to hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

After all of the medical treatment that you have been going through, why are you asking strangers on the internet instead of talking to your doctor? Congrats if you are and I am all for babies, but come on, ask your doctor, thats what you pay them for.

OOPS sorry, I thought it was the whole purpose of this question / answer system; to connect with others who have either been with the experience' or just happen to know the answers... But... I guess I was wrong... Your right, those who can afford to pay a doctor for answers, have no business asking questions on a board such as this... We just might get a very unwelcome slap in the face over it... Sorry if I interfiered in your question / answer group... I won't be posting any futher inconveniences for you..
