I am not sure if it works for everybody, But I had a friend who every time she craved a cigg. she would chew mint gum ... and it worked for her ... Have a support friend ... Every time you want to smoke call them ... it helps a lot to get your mind off of it!

I don't know if you will really ever stop craving cigarettes you just need to do something else to take your mind off of it. go exercise or do something active so you wont think about smoking. when you get a really strong craving remind yourself of all the benefits of not smoking

I quit on Jan. 20th this year, and I still have cravings sometimes. You can ask your doctor for help, sometimes they will prescribe wellbutrin, which is an anti-depressant but it also helps to quit smoking. thankfully, I was taking wellbutrin for depression already, and I think it helped when I was trying to quit. This is maybe my 3rd time quitting, but this time it is for good. The best thing to do is distract yourself, go out a lot with friends, go to places where you know you can't smoke, and it slowly gets easier. The down side, at least for me, is that I started eating a lot more and I have gained weight, so expect that. Instead of eating, try chewing gum or sucking on a toothpick, or get a lip or tongue piercing and play with it. that's all I can think of right now. I know I'm responding late, so I hope things have gone well so far, and if they haven't, try what I suggested.
