Uhmm... No.. I can't think of a scenerio where it may be wrong... Maybe to your ex I guess... Other than that it's good to say I love u... It keeps you happy.

An “I love you” must always come from your heart :-)

Stay honest and truthful to yourself, don’t tell a person you love them, just because you think that would be the right thing to say at that moment, rather tell them you care for them (if it is true)

If you keep the “I love you’s” to the people you really love, they would also learn and respect you as an honest and truthful person, because this is what you would require from them.
