Truck problems

some people call me wolverine... Asked by airryder32 6 months ago, 2 answers.

I keep snapping the yoke!! Its just a 350 chevy motor but I dont know what the entire drive train consists of...but it is a 4 speed with the crawler gear..Its a 1975 K5 Blazer. This is the second time this has happened, Im droppin it, but not like...

redline poppin the clutch or anything...its like I have too much torque and it just blows the whole drive shaft off. The yoke coming off the transfer snaps along with both U-joints!! seriously this shouldnt be happening!!! is there something I can get thats stronger for a yoke? my transfer case is the rock crusher...if anyone has some advice on this that would be awesome...

Maybe try some stronger, type metal. For your parts. You are are right about the torque. You are also, right it should not be happening. But then again. Everything has a weak spot and as you admit. You are Dropping it. With some low ratios gears, YES? looks like you find the weak link in you drive train.

yes yes. I've givin it a lot of thought...The only thing I can figure is that the U-joint I'm using isn't strong enough and they are breaking lose causing some slop and cracking off the side of the yoke. The only other thing would be that because my truck is lifted the angle of that knuckle might be too much in which case I would have to get one of those knuckles that have two U-joints instead of one to make the angle less...I dont know how much one of those costs yet tho...hopefullly not too much.
