Trouble with my computer please help

everytime I turn on my computer it freezes and says not responding. then I just have 2 shut it down by pressin the button, but its been doing this all day and I've been scannin it but it says nothing. what can I do to stop this and to run normal??

There could be a million things wrong with it - could be something like a virus or one of the parts in the computer not working properly. Looks like you'll have to take it to the repair shop.

If it's not getting to windows, it's probably a hardware problem.
If you know how to. switch it off at the wall, open it up and unplug/replug everything, give it a dust carefully and see how you go.

yes you might have a virus like stephanie said and you might have to do what jake said...or it might be sumthin rong wit your harddrive because my comp. use to do tat and there was sumthin rong wit the harddrive so we got a new one...and a new comp. so ya

this happend to me before what I did was when you go to start the computer start pressing f8 connsistently in tel a black screen shows up then go to run windows in safe mode and all these numbers and letters will pop up for a second and then go to administrator adn then you can scan the computer there and take off the viruses that way or go to run and type msconfig and then it will pop up go to start up and then click disable all

You might have a bunch of things wrong with your computer.
Your best solution, take it right to geek squad and have them fix it.

william4 - she can't get avast installed because she cant get to windows.
whatever the problem is, its stopping windows boot.

ok thanks guys now it wont even start. it says windows failed to start, im on my friends computer and she said I got a virus. and we order a restore CD for it, do you think that will work?
