Tree leaking sap and leaves turning yellow...

Asked by sandybfine 5 months ago, 1 answer.

We live in Southern California, We've had a mariposa tree (I think, it has ferny leaves and pink flowers) for 10 years, we finally got it professional pruned while dormant...and this spring it has come back ok on one side, but losing all it's leaves on...

the other side with half the tree trunk covered in sap...Is our tree dying?
What can we do? anything? Is the tree trimmer liable? We just want our tree back..and we know it's going to cost a fortune removing it.
Can you help? We are sad... Sandy in Santa Clarita

could be a fungus infection.
if your mariposa is a plum tree that im thinking of it could have brown rot. here are a few links you might want to look at.
