What does selamlar mean in turkish? This creep added me on facebook and sent me a message saying that.

It means greetings and spelled salamlar.
see: Shalom in Hebrew, and Salaam in Arabic ...it is a nice thing to learn one or two words in other languages...shows respect for the other cultures, and it's fun!

Selamlar means sincere way of greetings or hello in informal way...

It comes from arabic root which is salaam, peace in arabic. It is also same meaning of Shalom in Hebrew. However in daily usage of selamlar doesn't carry any religious message in Turkish Culture, it is like very common sincere greetings even if the root of this word is religious. Religious people in Turkey use the same full arabic greetings as Prophet Mohammed suggests Salamun Alaykum...Therefore, Selamlar is an informal sincere greetings when welcoming somebody or saying goodbye when somebody leaves...
